A Brown Company, Inc. (ABCI) was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on December 21, 1966. Listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange, the company has grown from its roots into a diversified holding company with a strong presence across key industries in the Philippines, particularly in Mindanao and the Visayas regions.
At the heart of ABCI’s operations is real estate development — its core and most established business segment. Its prime real estate development property is Xavier Estates in Cagayan de Oro City, recognized as Mindanao’s most successful high-end residential subdivision. All real estate developments follow the concept of a mixed-use, nature-themed, well-planned integrated community, and in recent years, the Company has expanded to economic and socialized housing projects. Beyond Cagayan de Oro City, ABCI is engaged in real estate development in Initao, Misamis Oriental; Cainta, Rizal; Valencia City, Bukidnon; and Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
In recent years, the company has diversified its business interests toward power generation, public utilities, and agribusiness in the form of palm oil — industries that are seen to provide steady, recurring income. ABCI has strategic interests in power generation in the Philippines, with a portfolio of operating baseload coal and diesel peaking power plants and an LNG floating power plant in development. Notable power assets include Palm Concepcion Power Corporation (PCPC), a 135MW coal-fired plant in Iloilo, and Peakpower Energy Inc. (PEI), which operates bunker-fired peaking power plants in General Santos and Agusan del Sur, with a third plant in Bukidnon in the preparation stages.
In the public utilities space, AB Bulk Water Company, Inc. (ABWCI) is in the business of bulk water supply, pursuing bulk water supply projects for the Municipality of Opol in Misamis Oriental and the expanding water needs of adjacent Cagayan de Oro City. Hydro Link Projects Corporation is also developing a hydropower plant in Surigao del Sur.
On the agribusiness front, A Brown’s palm oil operations are conducted through two subsidiaries — Surigao Greens Agricultural Corporation (SGAC) and A Brown Energy and Resources Development, Inc. (ABERDI) — engaged in the processing and trading of crude palm oil and related products. SGAC operates a fully functional crude palm oil milling facility with a rated capacity of 10 tons per hour, sourcing fresh fruit bunches from independent growers and nearby plantations in the Surigao and Agusan regions.
Adding to its growing portfolio, Irradiation Solutions Inc. (ISI) was incorporated as a 100% subsidiary of ABCI to pursue a network of ionizing sterilization centers in the Philippines. The ISI E-Beam facility is the pioneer E-Beam contract sterilization solutions provider in the country, offering sterilization for fresh and processed food, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics, and packaging materials.
With decades of experience and a commitment to building sustainable and happy communities, A Brown Company, Inc. continues to evolve as a forward-thinking conglomerate driving inclusive growth across the Philippines.
