Apex Mining Co., Inc. is primarily in the business of mining and related activities. The company debuted in the Philippine Stock Exchange in March 1974 with the ticker symbol APX.
APX owns and operates the Maco Gold Mine in Davao De Oro, located in Southern Mindanao. In 2015, it acquired its wholly-owned subsidiary, Itogon-Suyoc Resources, Inc., whose two mines in Benguet are the Sangilo Mine Site in Itogon and the Suyoc Mine Site in Mankayan. Monte Oro Resources & Energy, Inc. (MOREI), a wholly-owned subsidiary acquired in 2014, holds a 30% participating interest in Service Contract 72 (SC72) covering the Sampaguita natural gas field offshore northeast of Palawan, and also has several mining interests and projects located in and outside the Philippines, as well as a 52% interest in a domestic company in solid waste disposal management.
The Maco Mine has enough reserves and resources to continue operating until 2034. The company’s stock has grown 523% from January 2020 to June 2025, buoyed by steadily increasing financial performance, with revenue growth up 140% between 2020 and 2024. The consolidated net income of Apex Mining Co., Inc. and its subsidiaries totaled P5.45 billion in the first three quarters of 2025, representing a P2.38 billion (78%) increase compared to the same period in 2024.
The company was awarded Top 1 Business Taxpayer and Top 2 Real Property Taxpayer for 2025 by the Municipality of Maco in Davao de Oro, remitting Php200,852,196 in business taxes and Php6,084,096 in real property tax in 2025 alone. Apex Mining made the cut from 20,000 publicly listed companies across the Asia Pacific, with only five Philippine companies making the 2025 roster of 200 companies.
