Cosco Capital's Profit Grows 9.2% to PHP 8.3 Billion in First Half of 2026

Cosco Capital, Inc. (a company listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange) announced that it made more money in the first six months of 2026 compared to the same period last year. Think of it like getting a bigger allowance – the company earned PHP 8.3 billion, which is 9.2% more than the PHP 7.6 billion they earned in the first half of 2025.

According to the official disclosure filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 13, 2026, Cosco Capital’s Board of Directors approved these financial results during their regular board meeting.

What Does Cosco Capital Do?

Cosco Capital is owned by Mr. Lucio L. Co and acts like a parent company that owns different types of stores and businesses. The company’s total sales (called revenues) also increased by 9.5%, going from PHP 119.5 billion to PHP 130.9 billion.

Where Does the Money Come From?

Cosco Capital makes money from several different businesses, like having multiple piggy banks. Here’s how much each business contributed to their total profit:

  • Grocery Stores (70% of profit): This is their biggest money-maker, including Puregold Price Club and S&R Membership Shopping
  • Liquor Distribution (21% of profit): They sell alcoholic beverages
  • Commercial Real Estate (8% of profit): They rent out space in buildings
  • Energy & Minerals and Specialty Retail (1% each): Smaller businesses including Office Warehouse

Grocery Business Performance

The grocery stores, which include Puregold and S&R, performed very well. Their sales grew to PHP 121.48 billion, which is 10.6% higher than last year’s PHP 109.58 billion. The profit from grocery stores increased by 10.9% to PHP 5.87 billion.

What’s interesting is that existing stores also sold more items. Puregold stores saw customers buying more items per visit (their basket size grew bigger), resulting in a 3.1% increase in same-store sales. S&R warehouse clubs had even better performance with 12.8% growth because more people visited their stores.

Other Business Segments

Liquor Distribution: Through The Keepers Holdings Inc., this business earned PHP 9.2 billion in sales (2% growth). Their profit increased 7.2% to PHP 1.74 billion. The company noted that Alfonso, their imported brandy brand, is now selling even better than before the pandemic.

Commercial Real Estate: The rental business earned PHP 1.19 billion, growing 16.1% as more businesses returned to normal operations and paid full rent. Profit from this segment increased 16.2% to PHP 650 million.

Energy and Minerals: This newer business segment earned PHP 1.55 million in revenue (down 49%) and PHP 66 million in profit (down 44%) compared to last year.

Specialty Retail (Office Warehouse): Sales improved 8% to PHP 1.12 billion, with profit growing slightly to PHP 45 million.
