DoubleDragon's Hotel101-Madrid Generates ₱387 Million in Bookings Since Opening

DoubleDragon Corporation, a company listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange, has shared exciting news about its hotel business through its subsidiary called Hotel101 Global. Think of a subsidiary as a smaller company owned by a bigger company – like how a parent might have a child.

According to an announcement made on April 28, 2026, by DoubleDragon’s Chief Information Officer Atty. Joselito L. Barrera, Jr., their Hotel101-Madrid in Spain has been doing really well since it opened in March 2026.

How Well is Hotel101-Madrid Doing?

Since the hotel started accepting guests, it has received over 45,000 hotel night bookings. Imagine 45,000 times that someone booked a room to stay for one night – that’s a lot of guests! These bookings have brought in €5.44 Million Euros, which is approximately ₱387 Million pesos in hotel revenues.

To help you understand: revenue is the money a business earns from selling its services. In this case, Hotel101-Madrid earns money when people pay to stay in their hotel rooms.

What Makes Hotel101-Madrid Special?

The hotel is quite large, with 680 rooms, making it one of the top five largest hotels in Madrid, Spain’s capital city. It’s located in an area called Valdebebas, and what makes its location really special is that it’s right next to the new Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix racing circuit. Formula 1 is a very popular and exciting car racing competition watched by millions of people worldwide.

In fact, Hotel101-Madrid has been chosen as the Official Hotel Partner for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 all the way to 2035. This partnership was made through an agreement with a company called MATCH Hospitality Europe.

The hotel is also very close to important places:

  • 3-minute walk to Valdebebas Train Station
  • 4 minutes to the IFEMA convention complex (a big events center)
  • 5 minutes to the Real Madrid Sports Complex (where the famous soccer team trains)
  • 7 minutes to Madrid-Barajas International Airport

Hotel101-Madrid offers many amenities (special features) including a restaurant called HBNB Kitchen, two swimming pools, a fitness center, a children’s playground, 24/7 reception, business center, function rooms, and even a special app that guests can use to check in and open their room doors digitally.

DoubleDragon’s Big Expansion Plans for 2026

According to the announcement, 2026 is a very important year for DoubleDragon. It will be the year with the most hotel room openings ever in a single year for the company.

The company plans to open a total of 2,229 new hotel rooms in 2026:

  • 680 rooms in Madrid, Spain (already opened in March)
  • 519 rooms in Davao (a city in the Philippines)
  • 548 rooms in Cebu (another Philippine city)
  • 482 rooms in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan (expected to open in December 2026)

The Hotel101-Niseko in Japan will be one of the largest hotel projects in that area and will mark DoubleDragon’s entry into the Japanese market. When it opens, the company will start earning money in Japanese Yen (Japan’s currency).

Other Hotel101 Properties Are Also Doing Well

The announcement also mentioned that two other Hotel101 properties in the Philippines are performing strongly. The 519-room Hotel101-Manila and the 606-room Hotel101-Fort continue to operate at very high occupancy levels. Occupancy means how full the hotel is – if many rooms are being used by guests, that’s high occupancy, which is good for business.

What This Means for DoubleDragon

DoubleDragon stated that 2026 is set to be the year when the company will start generating high volumes of recurring revenues. Recurring revenue means money that comes in regularly, like a weekly allowance, rather than just one-time payments.

This recurring revenue will come from different types of businesses DoubleDragon operates:

  • Provincial community mall leasing (renting out space in shopping malls in provinces)
  • Industrial warehouse leasing (renting out big storage buildings to businesses)
  • Office leasing (renting out office spaces)
  • Hospitality portfolio (hotels) in the Philippines and overseas

The company also mentioned its goal to increase its total equity base (which is like the company’s net worth or value) to ₱500 Billion Pesos. They plan to raise money through capital markets in both the Philippines and the United States to achieve this goal.

DoubleDragon expects that Hotel101, which operates on what’s called an “asset-light business model,” will become a major homegrown brand that can be exported to other countries. This means the company can expand the Hotel101 brand globally, which would bring significant US Dollar inflows to the Philippine economy – meaning more foreign money coming into the Philippines, which is good for the country.

Note: Hotel101 Global, Inc. is listed on NASDAQ under the ticker symbol HBNB, while DoubleDragon Corporation is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange.
