ACEN CORPORATION has announced that Federal Land, a major real estate company in the Philippines, is now powering four of its residential buildings with 100% renewable (clean) energy. This partnership was disclosed in a company filing dated July 3, 2026.
What’s Happening?
Think of it like this: instead of getting electricity from sources that can pollute the air (like coal or gas), these buildings will now get all their power from clean sources like the sun, wind, or water. Federal Land signed a multi-year deal with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), which is the part of ACEN that sells clean electricity to customers.
Which Buildings Are Affected?
The four residential developments switching to clean energy are all located in Met Park, Pasay City:
- Six Senses Residences
- Mi Casa
- Palm Beach Villas
- Palm Beach West
These are described as “move-in-ready, resort-inspired” homes, meaning they’re finished and ready for people to live in, with a vacation-like feel.
How Is This Possible?
The switch to renewable energy is made possible through two government programs:
Green Energy Option Program (GEOP): This program lets electricity users who need at least 100 kilowatts of power per month choose to buy their electricity from renewable energy companies like ACEN RES. Think of it like choosing to buy only organic food at the grocery store – you get to pick the cleaner option.
Retail Aggregation Program (RAP): This is like a “group buying” approach. Multiple buildings or facilities can combine their electricity needs together. When they pool their demand, they become big enough customers to qualify for renewable energy sourcing, even if one building alone wouldn’t use enough power.
What ACEN Says
According to Tony Valdez, ACEN Senior Vice President for Market Transformation and Retail, this partnership shows how clean energy can work for large residential communities. He explained that by switching to renewable energy, Federal Land is making its properties more valuable and better prepared for the future, while also meeting its environmental goals.
Why This Matters
By using renewable energy, these residential developments get several benefits:
- More stable energy supply: Less worry about power problems
- Protection from changing electricity prices: More predictable costs
- Better for the environment: Cleaner living spaces for residents
- Future-ready: Prepared for stricter environmental rules that may come
