Globe Telecom Reports Strong First Half 2026 Results: Service Revenues Hit Record P85.4 Billion

Globe Telecom, Inc. (PSE: GLO) has shared its financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2026, according to a disclosure filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on August 4, 2026.

The telecommunications company reported strong performance despite facing economic challenges like higher inflation and rising oil prices. Let’s break down what these numbers mean in simple terms.

What Are Service Revenues?

Think of service revenues as the money Globe earns from providing services to customers – like mobile phone plans, home internet, and business data services. For the first six months of 2026, Globe’s service revenues reached an all-time high of P85.4 billion, which is 6% more than the P80.2 billion they earned during the same period in 2025.

In the second quarter alone (April to June 2026), Globe earned P43.4 billion in service revenues, showing steady growth from the previous quarter.

Mobile Business: The Biggest Money Maker

Globe’s mobile business – which includes prepaid and postpaid mobile phone services – brought in P60.4 billion in the first half of 2026, up 6% from last year. This is Globe’s largest source of income.

What’s driving this growth? Mostly mobile data – the internet you use on your phone. Mobile data revenues reached P53.9 billion, growing 10% year-on-year. This now represents 89% of all mobile service revenues, showing how Filipinos are using their phones more for internet activities like watching videos, using social media, gaming, shopping online, and making digital payments.

Globe now serves about 67.7 million mobile subscribers as of June 30, 2026. These users are consuming more data than ever – the average person now uses about 17 gigabytes (GB) per month, up from 15 GB a year ago.

Home Broadband: Steady Growth

Globe At Home, the company’s broadband internet service for households, earned P12.4 billion in the first half of 2026, also up 6% from last year.

The star of this segment is fiber internet (the fastest type of home internet connection). Globe now has over 2.0 million wired broadband subscribers, which is 32% more than a year ago. More households are switching from older wireless internet to fiber because it’s faster and more reliable.

A product called GFiber Prepaid (GFP) is becoming particularly popular. This is a prepaid fiber service that gives customers flexibility – they can pay as they go instead of committing to monthly contracts. As of June 30, 2026, GFP had 1.1 million subscribers.

Fiber internet now makes up about 93% of Globe’s total home broadband revenues, showing that most customers prefer this technology.

Business Services: Double-Digit Growth

Globe Business, which provides internet and technology services to companies, posted impressive results. Corporate Data revenues hit a record P11.0 billion in the first half of 2026, growing 15% year-on-year.

This growth comes from businesses needing more internet services and technology solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools, to help them work better and more efficiently.

Profitability and Earnings

EBITDA (a measure of operating profit) reached P44.9 billion for the first six months of 2026, up 6% from last year. The EBITDA margin stayed strong at 52.6%, which means that for every peso Globe earned, they kept about 52 centavos as operating profit.

Globe’s reported Net Income After Tax (NIAT) was P11.0 billion for the first half of 2026, down 11% from P12.4 billion a year ago. According to the filing, this decrease was mainly due to a smaller gain from changes in Globe’s ownership stake in Mynt (the company behind GCash) compared to last year, and higher non-operating costs.

GCash Connection: A Growing Contributor

Globe owns a stake in Mynt, the parent company of GCash – the popular mobile wallet app many Filipinos use for payments and money transfers. Mynt is becoming an increasingly important part of Globe’s earnings.

In the first half of 2026, Globe’s share of Mynt’s profits was P3.7 billion, representing 28% of Globe’s pre-tax income. Mynt’s quarterly revenues hit an all-time high of P22.4 billion in the second quarter of 2026.

Network Investments

Globe invested P26.3 billion in expanding its digital infrastructure during the first half of 2026, continuing to build out its network while maintaining careful spending discipline.
