Megaworld Corporation, one of the biggest property developers in the Philippines, announced on May 20, 2026, that it will open six new hotels in different parts of the country over the next three years. Think of it like building six new playgrounds, but instead of swings and slides, these are fancy hotels where people can stay and enjoy their vacations.
What’s Megaworld Planning?
According to the company’s official filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), these six new hotels will add almost 2,000 hotel rooms to what Megaworld already has. That’s like adding 2,000 bedrooms where tourists and travelers can sleep!
The six hotels are:
- ArcoVia Hotel – Located in ArcoVia City, Pasig City
- Savoy Capital Town – In Capital Town, City of San Fernando, Pampanga
- The Hamptons Hotel – At The Hamptons Caliraya in Cavinti, Laguna
- Paragua Sands Hotel – In Paragua Coastown, San Vicente, Palawan
- Savoy Hotel Palawan – Also in Paragua Coastown, San Vicente, Palawan
- The Kingsford – At The Upper East in Bacolod City
Why Is This Important?
Lourdes T. Gutierrez-Alfonso, who is the President and CEO (the top boss) of Megaworld, explained that their goal is to have more than 20 hotels with about 9,000 hotel rooms by the time the company turns 40 years old. This will happen in the next three years, which means around 2029.
By having more hotels, Megaworld wants to help the Philippines’ tourism industry grow. Tourism means welcoming visitors from other places, and when more tourists come, it helps the country’s economy (the way money moves around and helps people earn and spend).
Beach Hotels and City Hotels
Of the six new hotels, three will be near beautiful natural spots:
Two hotels – Savoy Hotel Palawan and Paragua Sands Hotel – will be built near the beach in San Vicente, Palawan. Together, these two hotels will have more than 600 rooms where guests can see both the beautiful blue sea and the mountains. San Vicente is special because it has the longest beachline in the Philippines and the second longest in all of Southeast Asia!
Another hotel, The Hamptons Hotel, will be built next to Lake Caliraya in Cavinti, Laguna, where guests can enjoy views of the lake and green mountains.
The other three hotels will be in busy city areas:
- ArcoVia Hotel will be Megaworld’s tallest hotel at 31 stories (that’s like stacking 31 houses on top of each other!). It’s being built in Pasig City and will give guests amazing views of Metro Manila and the Antipolo mountains.
- Savoy Capital Town is a 16-story hotel in Pampanga. This will be Megaworld’s first hotel north of Metro Manila.
- The Kingsford is a 12-story hotel in Bacolod City. What makes this special is that it will have a giant 16-feet tall bronze statue called the ‘MassKara Queen’ on top of it, celebrating Bacolod’s famous festival culture.
About Megaworld’s Current Hotels
Megaworld isn’t new to the hotel business. Earlier in 2026, the company opened Chancellor Hotel Boracay, which is its third hotel on Boracay Island. Now they have almost 1,600 rooms total on that famous island. They’re also about to open Belmont Hotel Iloilo, their third hotel in Iloilo City.
The company operates hotels under different brand names like Richmonde Hotel, Belmont Hotel, Savoy Hotel, Kingsford Hotel, and even international brands like Courtyard by Marriott and Mercure. Soon, they’ll also have the Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside Hotel, which will be the biggest Mövenpick hotel in the entire world with 1,531 rooms!
How Is Megaworld’s Hotel Business Doing?
According to their report, during the first three months of 2026 (the first quarter), Megaworld earned P1.5 billion from its hotel business. That’s 8% more than what they earned during the same time the previous year, which means their hotel business is growing.
