PLDT Reports 2% Revenue Growth to ₱108.7 Billion in First Half of 2026

PLDT Reports 2% Revenue Growth to ₱108.7 Billion in First Half of 2026

PLDT Inc., one of the Philippines’ biggest telecommunications companies, shared its financial report for the first six months of 2026 (January to June), according to a disclosure submitted to the Philippine Stock Exchange on August 13, 2026.

What Did PLDT Earn?

Think of revenue as the total money a company makes from selling its services. PLDT’s Gross Service Revenues (the total money they collected) grew by 2% to reach ₱108.7 billion in the first half of 2026. Their Net Service Revenues (which is like the money they keep after paying some costs) went up by 1% to ₱97.8 billion.

The company explains that when you don’t count their older, outdated services (called “legacy services”), their Net Service Revenues actually grew faster at 2%.

What’s Making Money for PLDT?

Most of PLDT’s money now comes from data and broadband services – this means internet and mobile data that people use on their phones and at home. Data and broadband brought in ₱84.0 billion, which is a huge 86% of all their service revenues. This is up from 85% last year, showing more Filipinos are using internet services.

Understanding EBITDA and Profits

EBITDA is a way to measure how much profit a company makes from its main business before accounting for certain expenses. PLDT’s EBITDA increased by 1% to ₱56.1 billion, with an EBITDA margin steady at 52%. This margin means that for every ₱100 they earn, about ₱52 stays with them as profit from operations.

The company’s Core Income (a measure of profit from their main business) remained stable at ₱17.3 billion. Their reported Net Income (the final profit after everything) was ₱16.4 billion for the first half of 2026.

Breaking Down the Business Segments

Wireless Consumer (Mobile Phones): This part of the business earned ₱42.1 billion, staying about the same as last year. However, PLDT noticed things getting better during the second quarter. The money people put on their phones (called “top-ups”) improved each month – going from a 3% decrease in March to actually growing by 1% in June.

Mobile data revenues reached ₱37.7 billion, while their Fixed Wireless Access (a way to get home internet through wireless technology instead of cables) grew strongly by 21%. PLDT also adjusted some of their prepaid offers, moving the price from ₱99 to ₱109 while adding more benefits.

The company now has 44.1 million active data users, and 12.5 million people are using 5G-capable devices, which is 30% more than last year.

Home (Internet at Home): PLDT Home brought in ₱30.0 billion in revenues. Their fiber internet service (the fast internet through cables) earned ₱29.4 billion and makes up 98% of their total home revenues. They have 3.9 million fiber subscribers.

PLDT Home introduced new products like “Fiber Unli All” which bundles internet, TV, mobile data, and phone calls into one package. They also expanded prepaid fiber options that people can load using digital wallets like Maya and GCash.

Enterprise (Business Customers): This segment, which serves companies and organizations, grew 5% to ₱24.8 billion. Their corporate data and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) revenues reached ₱18.4 billion, up 5%, with ICT revenues specifically jumping 22%.

The data center business (where companies store their computer systems and data) grew 13%, and the government is expected to need more of these services because of a new rule requiring government data to be stored in the Philippines.

Company Spending and Debt

PLDT spent ₱20.7 billion on capital expenditures (money spent to build and improve their network and equipment) in the first half of 2026. This is lower than the ₱27.4 billion they spent in the same period last year.

The company has a Net Debt of ₱287.3 billion, with their Net Debt-to-EBITDA ratio at 2.6 times. Only 14% of their debt is in US dollars, and only 5% is unhedged (meaning not protected from currency changes).

Dividends for Shareholders

PLDT announced interim dividends of ₱46 per share, which represents a 60% payout of their Telco Core Income. This is the money the company shares with people who own PLDT stocks.

Maya Digital Bank Update

Maya, PLDT’s digital banking platform, remained profitable in the second quarter of 2026. Maya’s deposit balances reached ₱86 billion (up 71% from last year) and loans outstanding rose to ₱39 billion (up 56%). Maya accounts for 53% of Point of Sale terminals nationwide as of December 2025, making it a leader in digital payments in the Philippines.

Sustainability Recognition

PLDT has been included in the FTSE4Good Index Series for the eighth consecutive year since 2019. This index recognizes companies that meet global standards for environmental, social, and governance practices.

According to Manuel V. Pangilinan, PLDT and Smart Chairman and CEO, “Growth remains measured, but we are optimistic that the second half of the year will be better, as we build on our momentum and focus on executing with discipline.”

PLDT Inc. trades on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the symbol TEL and on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol PHI.
