San Miguel Food and Beverage Makes More Money in 2025: Earnings Jump 13% to P46.3 Billion

San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. (SMFB), one of the biggest food and drinks companies in the Philippines, just shared some good news about how well they did in 2025. According to their press release filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on March 10, 2026, the company made significantly more profit last year.

What Did SMFB Accomplish in 2025?

Think of a company’s “net income” as the actual money they get to keep after paying all their bills – kind of like your allowance after you’ve paid for everything you need. SMFB’s net income grew by 13% to reach P46.3 billion in 2025. That’s a lot of money!

The company also brought in P419.1 billion in total revenues (that’s all the money they made from selling their products), which is 5% more than the year before.

Why Did They Make More Money?

SMFB made more profit for three main reasons:

  • Their food business did really well – breaking their own records
  • Their spirits (alcoholic drinks) business kept growing
  • They sold more beer in other countries

Breaking Down Each Business

Food Business: The Star Performer

The food division was the superstar of 2025. It made P196.3 billion in revenues (up 6%) and P11.6 billion in net income (up 38% – that’s a huge jump!).

What products helped? The company said people bought more of their popular items like:

  • Magnolia dairy products and coffee
  • Purefoods meats
  • Corned beef
  • Luncheon meat
  • Hams, bacon, longanisa, and tocino

The chicken business and animal feeds also did really well.

Beer Business: Staying Strong Despite Challenges

The beer business made P155.4 billion in revenues, staying about the same as last year. This is actually impressive because Filipino families have been more careful with their spending, and beer has become more expensive because the government keeps increasing taxes on it every year since 2020.

Even with these challenges, the beer business kept its operating income at P32.9 billion and net income at P26.5 billion by being smart about costs and connecting better with customers.

The international beer sales grew by 3%, reaching US$285 million, as more people in other countries bought their products.

Spirits Business: Growing Steadily

The spirits (hard liquor) business continued doing well, making P67.4 billion in revenues (up 8%). Their net income jumped 20% to P8.7 billion, mainly because they adjusted their prices effectively while selling about the same amount of products.

What the Boss Said

SMFB Chairman Ramon S. Ang said: “2025 was a strong year for SMFB, and that is a credit to our people across the organization. We will continue investing in our brands and operations so we can serve more Filipino families and deliver long-term value to our shareholders.”

Understanding the Numbers Better

The company’s EBITDA (a measure of how much profit a company makes from its operations) grew 10% to P80.6 billion, with an improved margin of 19%. This means the company is getting better at turning their sales into actual profit.

Net income attributable to equity holders of the parent (the profit that goes to the main company’s shareholders) increased even more – by 17% – showing that the company is creating more value for its owners.
