Ayala Corporation Buys 5.76 Million Ayala Land Shares at PHP 14.88 Each

Ayala Corporation (AC), one of the Philippines’ biggest and oldest business groups, has purchased shares of one of its own companies. According to a disclosure filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange, AC bought 5,760,000 common shares of Ayala Land, Inc. on August 13, 2026.

What Happened?

Think of it like this: Imagine you have a big toy company that also owns a smaller company that makes toy houses. The big company just decided to buy more pieces of the smaller company it already owns. That’s basically what Ayala Corporation did with Ayala Land.

Ayala Corporation paid an average price of PHP 14.878 (or about PHP 14.88) for each share. When you multiply the number of shares (5,760,000) by the price per share (PHP 14.878), the total purchase was worth approximately PHP 85.7 million.

About the Companies

Ayala Corporation is like a “parent company” that owns different businesses in the Philippines – from real estate to banks to water services. Ayala Land, Inc. is one of its biggest subsidiaries, focusing on building houses, condominiums, shopping malls, and office buildings.

Why Does This Matter?

When a parent company buys more shares of its own subsidiary, it usually means they believe the company is valuable and want to own a bigger piece of it. This is called increasing their stake or ownership in the company.

The disclosure was signed by Ginaflor C. Oris, Head of Investor Relations at Ayala Corporation, and was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Stock Exchange on August 13, 2026.
