AllCard Switches to 100% Clean Energy with ACEN, Cutting 631 Tons of Carbon Emissions Per Year

ACEN Corporation, through its retail electricity unit ACEN RES, has announced a new partnership with AllCard Inc. to help the card manufacturing company run entirely on renewable energy, according to a disclosure filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange on May 8, 2026.

What This Partnership Means

Think of it this way: instead of getting electricity from power plants that burn coal or gas (which creates pollution), AllCard will now get all its power from clean sources like solar panels, wind turbines, and geothermal energy (heat from inside the Earth). This is similar to choosing to ride a bicycle instead of a car that produces smoke.

By making this switch, AllCard will prevent about 631 metric tons of CO2 (carbon dioxide, a gas that contributes to climate change) from being released into the air every year. That’s like taking around 137 cars off the road for an entire year!

How This Partnership Works

The partnership was made possible through the government’s Green Energy Option Program (GEOP). This is a special program under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 that lets businesses with large electricity needs choose where they get their power from—specifically, they can pick companies that provide clean, renewable energy.

To qualify for this program, a company needs to use at least 100 kilowatts of electricity at peak times. AllCard meets this requirement and has chosen ACEN RES as its renewable energy supplier.

About the Companies Involved

AllCard Inc. is described as the Philippines’ leading provider of end-to-end card solutions, meaning they manufacture and provide various types of cards (like payment cards and ID cards).

ACEN Corporation (stock symbol: ACEN) is the energy company of the Ayala Group, one of the Philippines’ largest and oldest business conglomerates. ACEN focuses on renewable energy and is considered one of the fastest-growing clean energy companies in the Asia Pacific region.

ACEN RES, the retail electricity division of ACEN, is currently the leader in providing renewable energy to businesses through GEOP, holding a 65% market share according to the Philippine Electricity Market Corp (PEMC). This means that out of all the companies selling clean energy directly to businesses in the Philippines, ACEN RES has the biggest share.

What the Companies Are Saying

Aaron dela Paz, Chief Experience and Operations Officer at AllCard, explained that the company sees growth and sustainability as going hand-in-hand. He stated that switching to renewable energy is an important step in reducing their environmental impact while keeping their production strong and ready for the future.

Tony Valdez, Senior Vice President and Head of Market Transformation and Retail at ACEN, expressed support for AllCard’s move toward sustainability. He noted that this partnership shows how Philippine businesses are increasingly making sustainability a core part of how they operate, contributing to the country’s goals of reducing carbon emissions.

ACEN’s Renewable Energy Operations

According to the disclosure, ACEN currently has over 7 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity. To put this in perspective, one gigawatt can power about 750,000 homes. This capacity includes projects that are already operating, those being built, and those with signed agreements.

ACEN operates mainly in the Philippines but also has significant presence in Australia, Vietnam, India, and Lao PDR, with strategic investments in Indonesia and other markets. The company generates 100% of its electricity from renewable sources and aims to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
