Ayala Corporation Buys 10 Million Ayala Land Shares at PHP 14.14 Each

Ayala Corporation (AC), one of the Philippines’ largest and oldest conglomerates, announced on June 24, 2026 that it purchased 10 million common shares of Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) at a price of PHP 14.14 per share.

According to the disclosure filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), the transaction was completed on the same day the announcement was made.

What Does This Mean?

Think of Ayala Corporation as a parent company that owns several businesses. One of its biggest “children” is Ayala Land, which is the company that builds shopping malls, condominiums, and residential communities. When AC buys more shares of Ayala Land, it’s like a parent deciding to invest more money in one of their successful children’s businesses.

In this case, Ayala Corporation spent a total of approximately PHP 141.4 million (10 million shares × PHP 14.14 per share) to acquire these additional Ayala Land shares.

About Ayala Corporation

Ayala Corporation is one of the Philippines’ oldest business groups, with interests in various sectors including real estate (through Ayala Land), banking (through BPI), telecommunications (through Globe Telecom), water infrastructure (through Manila Water), and other businesses.

As of the filing date, Ayala Corporation has 620,415,577 common shares outstanding, along with several classes of preferred shares.

Why Companies Buy Their Subsidiaries’ Shares

When a parent company like Ayala Corporation buys more shares of a company it already owns, it can be for several reasons: to increase its ownership stake, to show confidence in the subsidiary’s future performance, or as part of its investment strategy. This type of transaction is common among holding companies managing their portfolio of investments.

The disclosure was signed by Ginaflor C. Oris, Head of Investor Relations at Ayala Corporation, and filed with regulatory bodies including the SEC, PSE, and Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEx).
