Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation (CREC) has announced it will give cash dividends to its shareholders for the first time since the company started trading on the Philippine Stock Exchange back in June 2024.
Think of dividends like getting a small reward or allowance for owning a piece of the company. When you own shares (which are like small pieces of a company), sometimes the company shares its profits with you – that’s what a dividend is.
How Much Will Shareholders Get?
According to the company’s disclosure filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 17, 2026, CREC’s Board of Directors approved a total cash dividend of Php 250 million. This means each share will receive Php 0.0224.
Here are the important dates to remember:
- Record Date: July 17, 2026 – You need to be a shareholder by this date to receive the dividend
- Payment Date: August 12, 2026 – This is when the money will actually be given out
Why Is CREC Giving Dividends Now?
The dividend announcement shows that CREC made good money in 2025. The company reported a consolidated net income (total profit) of Php 1.15 billion. The net comprehensive income that belongs to the main shareholders was Php 740.1 million.
Oliver Tan, CREC’s President and CEO, explained that this dividend decision shows a careful balance. The company wants to keep growing its renewable energy projects (like solar and wind power plants) while also rewarding the people who invested their money in the company.
“Our dividend declaration reflects prudent balance between funding the continued high growth phase of the Company, at the same time rewarding shareholders with a decent yield return,” Tan said in the press release.
About Citicore Renewable Energy Corporation
CREC is one of the Philippines’ leading renewable energy companies that focuses only on clean energy. They build and operate solar power plants and onshore wind projects – these are facilities that create electricity from sunlight and wind instead of using coal or oil.
The company has been expanding its renewable energy projects and continues to develop new ones. This growth helped them earn enough profit to share some of it with their shareholders through this first dividend payment.
As of the filing date, CREC has 11,160,715,179 common shares outstanding, which means the company is divided into that many pieces owned by different investors.
