Top Line Business Development Corp (TOP) First Half 2026 Earnings Jump 61.6% to P123 Million, Already Beats Full Year 2025

Top Line Business Development Corp. (stock symbol: TOP), a fuel company based in Cebu, has reported impressive growth in the first six months of 2026, according to a press release filed with the Philippine Stock Exchange on August 7, 2026.

What Does TOP Do?

Think of TOP as a company that sells gasoline and diesel fuel in the Visayas region. They do this in two main ways: they sell large amounts of fuel to businesses (like trucking companies or bus operators), and they also run their own gas stations where regular people can fill up their cars and motorcycles.

How Much Money Did They Make?

In the first half of 2026 (January to June), TOP made a profit of P123.21 million. This is special because it’s already more money than what they made in the entire year of 2025, which was P120.3 million. In other words, they made more money in just six months than they did in the whole previous year!

Compared to the first half of 2025 when they made P76.26 million, this year’s P123.21 million represents a 61.6% increase. That’s like if you had 10 candies last year and this year you have about 16 candies – a big jump!

How Much Did They Sell?

TOP’s total sales (called revenues) reached P3.84 billion in the first half of 2026. This is almost double what they sold in the same period last year (P1.97 billion) – a 94.2% increase.

Where Did the Money Come From?

TOP makes money from two main businesses:

1. Commercial Fuel Business (Selling to Companies)

This is still their biggest money-maker. They sold P3.47 billion worth of fuel to businesses, which is 90.4% of their total sales. They sold 56.71 million liters of fuel to companies, which is 31.6% more than last year’s 43.09 million liters.

2. Retail Fuel Business (Gas Stations)

This is the part that’s growing really fast. Their gas stations made P369.24 million, which is an incredible 474% increase from last year’s P64.31 million. To understand how big this jump is: imagine you had one toy last year, and this year you have almost 6 toys – that’s how much their retail business grew!

The retail business now makes up 9.6% of their total sales, compared to just 3.3% last year. They sold 5.30 million liters through their gas stations, which is 295% more than the 1.34 million liters last year.

Total Fuel Sold

Altogether, TOP sold 62.01 million liters of fuel in the first half of 2026, compared to 44.43 million liters in the same period last year – a 39.6% increase.

What the Company Leaders Said

Eugene Erik Lim, the company’s Chairman, President, and CEO, explained that this is the first time TOP has beaten the previous year’s full-year profit within just the first half. He noted that their commercial fuel business remains strong while their retail gas stations are helping them grow even more.

Brigitte Carmel Lim, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, pointed out that the growth in their retail fuel segment means TOP is creating a more balanced business, serving both companies and everyday consumers.

Second Quarter Performance

Looking specifically at the second quarter of 2026 (April to June), TOP more than doubled its revenues to P2.08 billion, up 113.6% from P972.81 million in the same quarter last year. Their profit for the second quarter was P60.45 million, a 59.5% increase from P37.89 million.

Profit Margins

TOP’s gross profit margin (a measure of how much profit they make from each sale after paying for the fuel) improved slightly to 9.57% from 9.25% last year. This means they’re managing their costs well even as they grow bigger.

Recent Developments

According to the press release, TOP completed a P1.5-billion follow-on offering in June 2026. This means they raised additional money from investors which they can use to expand their business and improve fuel supply in the Visayas region.
