Emperador Inc. Reports Strong Q1 2026 Results Despite Global Challenges

Emperador Inc. (EMI), one of the world’s biggest liquor companies, announced that it made good money during the first three months of 2026, even though there were many difficulties happening around the world.

According to a disclosure filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on May 20, 2026, the company earned ₱13.3 billion in revenues (that’s how much money they made from selling their products) and ₱1.9 billion in net profit (the actual money they get to keep after paying all their expenses). Both numbers went up compared to the same time last year, though the growth was in single digits.

What Does Emperador Do?

Emperador is a company that makes and sells alcoholic drinks, particularly brandy and whisky. They have factories in the Philippines, United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico, and they sell their products in 100 countries worldwide. Some of their famous brands include Emperador Brandy (which is the best-selling brandy in the entire world), Fundador Brandy, and premium Scottish whiskies like The Dalmore, Fettercairn, Jura, and Tamnavulin.

How Did They Perform?

The company’s brandy and whisky sales grew by 6% during the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This means people bought more of their drinks than before.

Their net profit to equity holders grew by 4.5% year-on-year. This happened because they sold more products, managed their costs carefully, sold the right mix of products, and ran their business efficiently.

Both their local business in the Philippines and their international operations contributed to this growth. The company benefits from selling in many different countries, which helps them stay stable even when one market faces problems.

What Challenges Did They Face?

According to Glenn Manlapaz, CEO and President of Emperador Inc., the company faced several tough situations during this period, including:

  • Geopolitical tensions (conflicts between countries)
  • Supply chain disruptions (problems getting materials from one place to another)
  • Fuel price volatility (gas and oil prices going up and down)
  • Inflationary pressures (things becoming more expensive)
  • Economic headwinds (overall difficult economic conditions)

Despite all these challenges, the company managed to keep growing by focusing on doing their work well and being efficient.

What’s Next?

Emperador remains “cautiously optimistic” for the rest of 2026. This means they feel positive about the future but are still being careful because of the uncertain global situation. They plan to continue making strategic investments and improving how they run their business.
