PHINMA Corporation, a big company that invests in schools, building materials, hotels, and real estate, has shared its earnings report for the first six months of 2026. Think of PHINMA (stock symbol: PHN) like a parent company that owns several different businesses – kind of like how a toy box contains different types of toys.
According to their official press release filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on August 7, 2026, the company made P9.55 billion in total revenues (that’s all the money coming in from their businesses). Their net income – which is the actual profit after paying all the bills – reached P363.35 million during this period.
Why Did PHINMA Make Money?
PHINMA explained that their profits came from several sources:
- More students enrolled in their schools
- Better efficiency in their construction materials business (meaning they’re doing more work with less waste)
- Ongoing property projects in different regions
- Steady demand for their hotels
What Made Things Difficult?
The company also explained that some challenges made it harder to earn more money. Problems in a faraway place called the Gulf region caused money exchange rates to change a lot, making it more expensive to borrow money. This made both businesses and regular people more careful about spending.
Here in the Philippines, the government was slower in spending money on projects, and there wasn’t as much construction happening – which affected PHINMA’s building materials business.
How Each Business Performed
PHINMA Education (Their Schools)
This was one of the strongest performers. PHINMA Education made P3.12 billion in revenues and P819.75 million in profit. More students enrolled during the second semester of School Year 2025-2026 and summer term. The company said they’re working hard to keep education affordable for students from low-income families.
The schools did really well academically too – 92% of their students in the Philippines and 99% in Indonesia passed their board exams on the first try!
Construction Materials Business
This segment includes companies that make steel products (Union Galvasteel Corp.), cement (Philcement Corp.), insulated panels (Union Insulated Panel Corp.), and solar energy systems (PHINMA Solar Energy Corp.). Together, they made P5.28 billion in revenues but had a combined loss of P35.59 million.
Even though they lost money, these companies are making improvements. Philcement is expanding in Mindanao with bigger facilities. Union Galvasteel is using better pricing strategies. Union Insulated Panel Corp. is building a new factory in Porac that will open this year. And PHINMA Solar is benefiting from more people wanting to put solar panels on their roofs.
Property Development
PHINMA Property Holdings made P698.02 million in revenues but had a loss of P378.64 million. Their big project is the Saludad Township in Bacolod. The company is also working on affordable housing for low-income workers through PHINMA Community Housing, with a project called PHINMA Tatag in Davao City.
Hotels (Hospitality)
PHINMA’s hotels made P300.30 million in revenues and P27.20 million in profit. Filipino families traveling for leisure and business travelers staying at their hotels helped them earn money, even though global conflicts made international travel more uncertain.
PHINMA’s Financial Position
As of June 30, 2026, PHINMA Corporation had:
- P4.72 billion in cash and cash equivalents (money they can use right away)
- P62.46 billion in total assets (everything the company owns)
- P18.92 billion in stockholders’ equity (the value belonging to shareholders)
- 336,325,265 shares of common stock outstanding
What the CEO Said
Ramon R. del Rosario, Jr., PHINMA’s Chairman and CEO, said their different businesses are adapting to difficult conditions. He mentioned they’re looking forward to opening new facilities – including a cement plant in Panabo and the insulated panels factory in Porac – and seeing more students enroll in their schools.
